Ketu is also called south node, the other part of rahu, ketu also indicates spirituality, detachment from the materialistic world, Ketu is considered a shadow planet and its transit brings many auspicious and inauspicious results. Ketu is said to be the planet of influence, it does not give any independent result to any native by itself and it is associated with all spheres of life. According to Vedic astrology, it is believed that the house in which Ketu is situated in the horoscope of a person, gives results to the person according to the lord of that house. Also, the effect of Ketu in a person’s birth chart depends on the conjunction and vision of other seven planets i.e. Sun, Moon, Mars, Saturn, Venus, Jupiter and Mercury.

If Ketu is in the third, fifth, eighth, ninth and twelfth house in the horoscope, then the person gets very good results. However, Ketu does not have ownership of any particular amount. But Ketu is considered high in Scorpio or Sagittarius and debilitated in Taurus. If malefic planet or Shani also has an aspect on them, then Ketu becomes afflicted. If it is aspected by Mars and Saturn or is in a debilitated sign or is less in degree, then Ketu becomes afflicted. If Ketu is in an afflicted state in the horoscope, then there is one or the other obstacle in the person’s life. Along with this, it also creates defects in the person’s horoscope.
